Saturday 30th April
10am - 4.30pm
Water Lane Walled Garden, Water Lane, Hawkhurst, Kent, TN18 5DH
Free entry on foot or bike, or £5 per car
Join us on Saturday 30th April for our Spring Fair. There will be great shopping, plants to buy and takeaway food from the sea container to eat in the Carnation House or sit on the grass while the spring bulbs and the long border blossoms.
The fair will be spread across the whole Water Lane site. Underneath the open awning on the terrace of the walled garden, creatives and makers will set up stall selling their original, handmade, and vintage items for the house and garden, that are both functional and beautiful. Elsewhere on site the Carnation House will be open, to sit with lunch from the sea container, the Pelargonium House will be full of clay crafts and ceramics and the pole barn will host activities such as flower crown making and basketry demonstrations.
Stall holders include Flavell Trading’s wooden stools, boards, and utensils; Juniper & Bliss’ naturally dyed clothing and homewares; Sally Hampson’s woollen blankets, shawls and scarves; Janie Kidston ceramic bowls and plates; and curated finds by Norse Vintage from visits to French Brocantes. Bunches of spring flowers from the Water Lane cutting garden, potted plants, seasonal jams and preserves from the Pantry will also be available.
Delicious light lunches and cakes from Water Lane’s kitchen will be served from the terrace sea container, such as flat breads baked in the Portuguese wood oven and topped with beetroot, spinach, leek, and Winnies Wheel cheese or with new potato, red onion, and rosemary. Tams Tipple cheese scones will be served alongside mugs of pea soup and for something sweet there will be lemon, bay and ricotta cake and bitter orange Campari sorbet.
Please put the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there!
