Pelegrims has long been a best-selling range within our store, you may have tried their heavenly-scented hand wash and nourishing lotion when visiting our bathrooms at the garden.
For our first journal entry I thought I'd share more about their story, how they are made, and the range we stock here in our shop...
Why we love what they do:
- Their commitment to sustainability and use of Kentish vine and grape extracts (waste products).
- Their beautifully designed branding and packaging (featuring a microscopic illustration of a vine cross-section). They make a wonderful gifts!
- And the captivating scent of rosemary, fig and amber, with notes of rose, tomato and labdanum, that make their products so tempting.
A little about the brand...
'From Vineyard to Skin'
The active ingredient in their products from the beginning has been grape and vine extracts taken from waste products of the winemaking industry. Partnering with progressive English wine producers Westwell Wines based in Kent, where they harvest Pelegrim's signature English Ortega Grape Extract. These extracts work in harmony with the skin, enriching it, and boosting it's natural ability to restore and rejuvenate.
A little about Westwell...
Nestled in Kent's North Downs along the historic Pilgrims Way, Westwell Estate offers the perfect combination of ideal climate, soil, and aspect. Here, four grape varieties - Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Ortega - are carefully grown and handcrafted into exquisite wines.
Their main focus in the vineyard is to cultivate high-quality grapes while also prioritising the health and preservation of the soil. Incorporating a combination of organic, sustainable, and conventional methods, minimise interference, and valuing the conservation of both their vineyard and surrounding environment, all while promoting biodiversity.
