About this event

You will be taking home 4 beautiful Irish linen napkins with your own botanical design that we hope will have been inspired from the garden here at Water Lane. The class will take place inside our glorious heated Pelargonium House. Hand block printing is immensely satisfying, a calm and extremely rewarding way to combine artistry with sustainability.

Starting with a brief run-through, youll be guided through the fascinating process of hand block printing with a quick demonstration and Q&A session, at every stage Trudi is on hand to guide and advise. Youll choose from the large selection of authentic botanical wooden blocks and colours to reflect the glorious setting of Water Lane.

After a light lunch, you will print your final design (s) onto your crisp linen napkins, they will be iron fixed, wrapped for you to take home, washed-off and admired.During the day tea and coffee will be provided and at lunchtime a simple light meal in the restaurant is included.

We have plenty of pinnys available but please DONT wear your Sunday best, block printing can get a tad mucky!

Trudi's crisp linen napkins have been sustainably sourced directly from the manufacturers in Ireland, with over 100 yrs of skilled & experienced work force they consistently ensure the finest quality whilst detailing a beautiful punched hem.

More about Trudi

Yateley Papers was born out of a passion for traditional block printing techniques. In an extensive tenure working along-side Angel at Tobias and The Angel, Trudi gained a wealth of invaluable knowledge and experience mastering the art of traditional hand block printing.

Trudis hands-on journey was truly eclectic and finally led to the creation of Yateley Papers in 2015. Building a carefully chosen portfolio of British artisan makers, selected for their attention to detail, traditional fine finish and their close regard for the environment and sustainable biodegradable materials, has made us extremely proud to be Fabulously British. With a growing momentum for working from home Yateley Papers injects instant colour and pattern from their luxurious range of desk accessories, boxes, trays and files through to their statement glass lamp bases and lampshades.
