For Peat’s Sake 11.5L Block
Made from the husks of coconuts, this 600g eco coir compost block, creates up to 11.5 Litres of the optimum soil which is perfect for growing houseplants, herbs, fruit, vegetables or cacti.
Coir is one of the most environmentally friendly soils you can use, a great alternative to harvesting peat. The earth's peat bogs store over 600 billion tonnes of CO2 (more than all of the world's forests combined), so it is incredibly important that we move away from this resource, for our planet's sake.
The coconuts used are harvested every 45 days, unlike peat bogs which take centuries to develop. Plus every part of the coconut is used within different industries. The coir fibres are graded, washed and buffered using a waste water facility, resulting in a neutral and safe soil for your plants to grow in.
- Sustainably sourced coconut husk fibres.
- Peat-free, Renewable and eco-friendly.
-
Improves drainage, air circulation and water retention, encouraging healthy root growth.
- The fibres have a high cation exchange capacity, meaning they absorb, store and release nutrients very effectively, reducing nutrient leaching and helping your plant absorb plant food more efficiently.
- No artificial fertilisers are included so when planted, you can add an organic proprietary plant food of your choice.
Instructions for use:
This soil has been dehydrated, compressed and packaged. So all you need to do on is add water and start planting.
