A series of monthly sessions about growing flowers for cutting - November
A practical guide to what’s to be done in the cutting garden throughout the year to give you a flower filled garden.
Using our own cutting garden as a resource, each month, February to November, we’ll lead you through a series of jobs and tasks to be completed.
From advice on seed sowing, taking cuttings and looking after your soil to harvesting and seed collection as well hints, tips and resources to give you the tools to create your own cutting garden.
These monthly morning sessions (two and a half hours per session see dates below) are intended for those who are new to gardening or new to growing flowers for cutting. Each session will be practically based and allow you to follow the progress of a cut flower garden throughout the year.
Participants can choose to attend as many of the 10 monthly sessions as they wish. Each session is priced at £25 and must be booked via our website. Places are limited to 12 each session. The sessions will be led by Ian and Julia who look after the cutting garden here at Water Lane. This is their third season growing here and previously Ian spent a season with London growers, Wolves Lane Flower Co.
It’s intended that most of the session will be spent in the garden or glasshouses doing practical tasks as opposed to it being classroom based. Here’s a rough guide to what will be covered in each session.
