An Introduction to Book-Binding: Make a Beautiful Notebook - 27th September - 9.30am - 2pm

Make a Beautiful Notebook, perfect for using as a Gardening Journal; for your garden plans, sketches, sowing and harvest notes and collecting recipes.

Join Seagull Bindery's Philippa East in crafting a beautiful hand-bound book from a selection of gorgeous cloths, papers and ribbons! During the session, you will learn  about artisan bookbinding and the various materials and tools involved in the process. The session runs from 9.30am to 2pm and is suitable for absolute beginners. If you like creativity, conversation and colour, this will be perfect for you. 

All materials and tools are provided and all participants go home with a hand-made book and a couple of bookbinding tools to get started! 

Seagull Bindery is an artisan studio based in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, near the ancient town of Rye. Philippa has been practicing bookbinding and book restoration for many years, including a 6-year work placement in the book conservation studio at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
