Create a Colourful Layered Floral Painting - 28th June - 10am-1pm
A beginners workshop with Sandy Dooley to create your own floral artwork
About this event
In this workshop you'll create a 30x40cm painting to take home with you, inspired by the beautiful floral colours and flowers surrounding us at Water Lane in mid-summer.
Learn to paint a floral world in Sandy’s distinctive abstract impressionist style. In the workshop, you will learn how to create a layered, multicoloured floral landscape painting. After a short demonstration, you will spend the rest of the workshop outside surrounded by floral inspiration, and, guided by Sandy you will learn how to brush, layer and spatter paint onto your canvas to create a satisfying and exciting painting.
One canvas (ready to hang) of 30x40cm
Additional practice paper sheets
Please bring an apron or shirt to protect your clothes and bear in mind that acrylic paint won’t come out of your clothes!
Graduating in Fine Art from Central St Martin's School of Art and now living very close to us here at Water Lane, Sandy describes her approach;
"The play of light and shadow, and the in-the-moment experience of absorbing the world around me inform my work. I am also drawn by my memories of a childhood spent outside, the visual impact and pleasure of that still resonates with me. I love colour and texture and in my work am always attempting to use these elements to create a harmonious balance."
Time 10am - 1pm
We'll be serving light refreshments mid-way through the workshop. Why not complete your morning with lunch in our restaurant. Click here to make a restaurant booking.
