About the Workshop

Join Alice for a morning of punching. After a quick tour of the beautiful Water Lane gardens to harvest some design inspiration, Alice will teach the basic techniques of using a punch needle.

Using responsibly sourced materials and British wool, Alice will be your guide in creating your very own piece of textile art to take home.

Punch needle is a craft technique using a special tool to create loops of yarn or thread on fabric. Invented in the 1880s for rug making, it's now used for various items like cushions and wall hangings. The rhythmic punching motion is relaxing, making it popular among textile enthusiasts.

This workshop is all about embracing your creativity, having fun, and learning the basics of this enjoyable craft. Whether you are looking to create unique art pieces or want to unwind and destress, this workshop provides a relaxed and welcoming environment to explore the world of punch needle embroidery. Come as you are and let your creativity flow

This workshop is open to all levels of experience & you will learn the skills needed to continue your practice at home.

All materials provided.

You will take home:

6” embroidery hoop to frame your finished punch needle design

You will be served hot or cold drink and a welcome cookie on arrival to keep you refreshed.
