About this event

Make a traditional hen basket. This classic frame basket also known as the Ose basket makes the ideal foraging or picnic basket. Learn how to set willow hoops and as the basket weave progresses add the ribs that give the basket its strength. Some previous weaving  experience is recommended for students on this course.

  • Running over 2 days, the course includes refreshments and a light lunch from our restaurant each day.
  • This is a small class so you can expect lots of valuable one to one tuition over both days.
  • The classes will be held in our heated Pelargonium House.

"My basketry is grounded in traditional British and European techniques which create beauty in form and function.

I take inspiration from the landscape in which I work and it is important to me that what I do is connected to the rhythm of the seasons  and in harmony with the ecology of the natural environment.

The process of growing, harvesting and creating is one of nourishment to me. I hope that my love of the natural world comes out in some small way in my baskets. "

If this is the case we will contact all customers booked by email by the 9th of March.
